​JENNY
LOO
Jenny Loo is the Assistant Director of the MSc (Audiology) Programme at the National University of Singapore (NUS). She also heads the Centre for Hearing Intervention and Language Development (CHILD) in the Department of Otolaryngology at the National University Hospital (NUH). In 2007, she received the NMRC Research Scientist Fellowship award to her pursue PhD in UCL, London, UK. Her research areas have included central auditory processing disorder, cochlear implants, hearing loss and dementia, with which pilot grants were previously awarded. She is currently the principal investigator for several projects focused on developing audiological tools for the local population. Jenny has published 8 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and 1 book chapter. In 2015, she was awarded the NUHS Mochtar Riady Young Achiever Award in recognition of her leadership as an allied health professional, a researcher and an educator whose day-to-day work evinced values of teamwork, respect, integrity, compassion and excellence.

SUZANNE PURDY
Suzanne Purdy is Professor and Head of Speech Science since 2003 in the School of Psychology at the University of Auckland. She is Principal Investigator in the Centre for Brain Research and the Brain Research New Zealand Centre of Research Excellence. Her academic background is in psychology, speech science and audiology. Her research interests are in the areas of communication and auditory processing disorders, hearing and neurological conditions. Suzanne worked clinically as an audiologist at Auckland Hospital before becoming an academic and researcher after completing her PhD. Her academic background includes an MSc in Psychology (Auckland, 1982), PhD in Speech Pathology and Audiology (Iowa, 1990) and a Diploma of Audiology (Melbourne, 1982). She was previously a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Audiology in the Department of Physiology, Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences, University of Auckland (1990-1999) and a Senior Research Scientist at National Acoustic Laboratories, Sydney, Australia (2000-2003). She has been a named investigator on 57 research grants (>$4.6 million). Research outputs include 116 peer-reviewed articles, 8 book chapters and 100+ invited oral presentations.

​WAYNE
WILSON
Wayne Wilson is an Associate Professor in Audiology at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences, The University of Queensland (UQ). He holds a BSc(Hons) in auditory physiology and a Post-graduate Diploma and PhD in audiology. Wayne’s current research interests include auditory processing disorder (APD) and the signal processing of auditory evoked potentials. He has published over 55 papers in refereed scientific journals, 8 book chapters and 3 patents. Wayne has also given over 300 presentations at scientific conferences (including 13 key-note and opening addresses) and professional and community meetings, and has secured over 30 competitive research grants totalling more than AUD$3 million. Wayne co-chaired the APD Task Force formed by the Health Professions Council of South Africa from 1999 to 2001, and continues to lead APD discussion groups in Australia today.
